  • Suffolk Record Office - New Opening Hours

    Posted: 20/09/14

Message received via The Federation of Family History Societies:

    Dear Colleagues,

We would be grateful if you could advise anyone planning a visit to any of the three Suffolk Record Office branches that we will be introducing new opening hours from Wednesday 1st October 2014. These are:- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 9.30-16.30.

We will be closed to the public on Wednesdays and Sundays but offering a full archive production service on Saturdays.

Emails and telephone enquiries will not be answered on Wednesdays as staff will be working on improving catalogue information and digitising material prior to the development of a new website in 2015 which will improve access to online information and archival content. Further details about the background to these changes can be found on: under the paragraph entitled Digitisation of Suffolk's heritage collections.

    Thank you for your help.
